Jeff Dixon has
been photographing natural
beauty—wildlife, landscapes, sunrises,
sunsets, fall foliage and winter
storms—for over forty years.
As an active participant in Sport
Parachuting, he amassed just over 1800
free fall jumps while helping to pioneer
helmet-mounted free fall camera
techniques, using both 35m and 8mm movie
equipment.
After retiring from sport parachuting,
he began photographing ski racing, water
skiing, sailing, rappelling and other
athletic events. He also became active
in piloting ultra light aircraft which
he used in
aerial photography.
He trained at the Long Island Nature
Photography Workshop, Great American
Photo Workshops in Maine and Arizona and
special photography workshops in the
Galapagos Islands.
He now uses both 35mm digital and film
systems and shoots throughout New
England. Although
he has traveled throughout the United
States and Canada, he has found real truth to the
old saw that the best shots are often
right in your own backyard. His work is
continuously displayed in many
businesses throughout the Monadnock
Region.
“I want to share the satisfaction I get
from capturing the photo I want, not the
one the camera wants to give me. I love
nature's colors and find beauty in
everything from picturesque mountains to
Costa Rican Iguanas. It’s all an adventure.”
